It is amazing to view a copy of a document from the late 1700's from a foreign country, written in Latin, Hungarian or German, in the artistic script of a parish priest. He could never imagine that in the 21st Century relatives would be searching out information on a computer, and viewing a copy of his actual handwriting. It is even more astounding to think that it is possible. Microfilm records from LDS have been helpful in our quest for accurate information. Ellis Island records, and the US Census data have proved invaluable.
There are many many documents that need sorting and naming... Does your dining room table look like this? (See Left) Once you start genealogy research, it's difficult to stop - and, you tend to save every little note and scrap of paper! Here are just a few to get started.

This voyage was the start of our US Schwabik clan. Note the mis-spelling of the name as 'Schwabeck' on the manifest.
