SCHWABIK SHARED INFORMATION

There are 9 Comments for SCHWABIK SHARED INFORMATION

I've asked Vernon R. Kostohryz today for permission to link out to his site. -Wendy
Just a FYI. For any relatives non-living, I ill make every attempt to put their birth year after their name for others to accurately identify the person (for example, Grandpa will be noted as "Joseph A. Schwabik(1885)". For anyone living I will not do this. Also, for any women with Schwabik as their married name, I will refer to that person, for example: "Colleen Hammel-Schwabik" even though they might not use their maiden names. It's just a way to be a little clearer. -Wendy PS How come I am the only one making posts here????? You'll note you do not have to enter your e-mail address to post.
This is amazing! I am speechless. I E-mailed Andrej Schwabik, if he's out there I will find him. The picture of Liam's christening is wonderful. We will send more.
An extremely nice and of course very hard job, Wendy. I will try to contribute if some time will be left. Stefan
Thank you Stefan, It's been very enjoyable getting all this information "out there." I'm still writing the 'story' which will read like a short story. Just working on all the fact checking which takes some time! Look forward to any additional information you can send. -Wendy
Hi everyone! I will be reducing some of the file sizes in the next few days of most of the images on the site, as I don't want to run out of space - some are way too large. We have 250 mb of space and we are already at 195MB! I wanted people to be able to print the photos out, but everything will have to be reduced to 72dpi. If anyone wants prints, just ask me to e-mail you a larger file. As of today we have had 124 unique visitors!
Have found two Joannes Svabiks in the 1715 Hungarian Census - http://www.arcanum.hu/mol/ Towns are"Horka, Huorka, Vághorka, Nyitra, Hôrka nad Váhom, SK" and "d Oblazó, Oblazó, Vágbalázsi, Trencsén, Zemianska Kotešova, SK, Nemeskuta." Ernest Erenyi reports that the first group are in Nyitra County and the second group are in Trencsen County, both villages along the Vah h (in Hungarian: Vág) river. More to investigate. -Wendy
I've uploaded the first part of the Schwabik story- so please check it out under "The Schwabik Story." More to follow, I am just fact-checking the rest! -Wendy
Just a quick note: The Schwabik information on Rootsweb that pertains to our Schwabik family in the US is INCORRECT - the person that posted (Bob Bamford) unfortunately did NOT have the correct information. Our Joseph Schwabik, Rootsweb ID: I1020, was born in Iglo, NOT Prague. Anna Murin was born in Spisske Podhradie, NOT Budapest. Unfortunately we have no way to correct this mis-information. A reminder to genealogists to be sure of the facts before making posts. -Wendy
